My Big Sister.

The intelligent, physical, hardcore – type. The Captain of the ship – type. The business woman, the stylist, the social worker, the boss – type.

The ‘not perfect but trying her best’ – type

The beautifully flawed and perfectly human – type.

My Big Sister.

‘The know your worth – type’

If only she knew what I know, could see what I see. I’ve walked behind her for years and I know how she moves. The turn of her heel that gives her away. When she’s hesitating and doubtful or studious and strong.

My Big Sister.

There’s something out there – inside of her. Ferocious and wild and needing its place. She knows that I know, but she’s trying to hide.

My Big Sister.

There’s magic in the air emanating from her.

Showing me she cares, making sure that I know:

You are so special’

I love you so much’

I am so proud of you’

Reaching out on the daily:

Know your worth’

Know your worth’

How cool it is, that she sees this in me. But we are what we see and I’m looking at her. Tippy toes and I’m balancing.

My Big Sister.

Perhaps?

It’s not possible?

She really doesn’t know?

That this is all her.

Has been from the start.

That I am the little sister; younger not wiser and wearing her t-shirt.

My Big Sister.

I hope that she knows; she is more powerful than she thinks and I follow her lead. That life can be scary but I’ve got her back. Leaders must lead and she must follow the path.

That SHE is a leader and I follow her path.

I don’t know where she’s headed but I know that she’s off – I’m a reflection of her and I’m on my way.

Not playing but following, the Leader and carrying the bats.

To My Big Sister.

The beautiful, hardcore, physical type;

She is a Queen and I serve in her court.
